In einer Ära der Totengesänge auf Rockmusik, Bands und Alben wandeln die vier Jungs von Flames Flames Flames auf den Spuren von Robert Johnson, King Crimson und den White Stripes, um die Bestätigung der Gegenthese anzutreten: Auch im 21. Jahrhundert bietet das Toolkit des Rock’n’Roll unerschöpfliche Möglichkeiten, um gemeinsam auf Songreisen zu gehen. Um das Leben zu durchleuchten. Es zu beweinen. Es zu feiern.
Frontmann Marcel Illetschko und seine drei Kompagnons aus Salzburg begeben sich nach unterschiedlichen Projekten in Jazz, Elektronik, Folk und Progressive auf den Weg down to the crossroads: Feinjustierte Bandarbeit, bluesige Rhythmen unter Fuzz-Gewittern, lennoneskes Songwriting und Texte, die darauf abzielen, den Boden unter den Füßen wegzuziehen. Nordlichter, aufgepeitschte See und pulsierendes Eis – in Musik eingeschrieben.
Noch ist die Spur von Flames Flames Flames kurz, aber ab Herbst 2025 wird das Feuer auf den Bühnen der Umgebung lodern. Demos sind in Arbeit, das Debütalbum Timber & Ash nimmt Form an.

In an era of funeral songs for rock music, bands, and albums, the four-piece Flames Flames Flames walks in the footsteps of Robert Johnson, King Crimson, and The White Stripes—to prove the counter-thesis: Even in the 21st century, the toolkit of rock’n’roll still offers endless possibilities. For going on song journeys together. For probing life. For mourning it. For celebrating it.
Frontman Marcel Illetschko and his three companions from Salzburg are—after various projects in jazz, electronic, folk, and progressive music—on their way down to the crossroads: meticulously crafted band dynamics, blues-drenched rhythms under fuzz storms, Lennonesque songwriting, and lyrics that tilt the floor beneath you. Northern lights, a wind-lashed sea, and pulsing ice – inscribed in music.
The trail of Flames Flames Flames may still be short—but starting in fall 2025, the fire will blaze across local stages. Demos are in the works, and the debut album Timber & Ash is taking shape.
